PETA backlash on Jennifer Lopez Halftime Feather Flag Coat

Jennifer Lopez sorprendió a el mundo durante el espectáculo de Halftime en el Super Bowl LIV el domingo (2 de febrero) cuando subió al escenario con un traje personalizado y un llamativo coat rojo, blanco y azul que se reveló en el forma de una bandera puertorriqueña.

The coat made a big fashion statement, el grupo de derechos de los animales PETA were not impressed however, calling out JLo for moda innecesariamente cruel.

“This flag could have flown without killing birds,” read a tweet from PETA. “Dozens of birds were KILLED for this #SuperBowl #PepsiHalfTime performance.” The tweet also included side-by-side images of a triumphant Lopez spreading the flag coat’s arms out next to an image of dead, plucked birds hanging on hooks in a processing plant.

Según una publicación de Instagram de uno de los estilistas, Mariel Haenn, el abrigo de plumas de López fue hecho a medida por Versace y presentaba 40,000 plumas rojas, azules y blancas “all sown individually.”
